About Schwartz & von Halen
Born in Berlin. Designed in Amsterdam.
Schwartz & von Halen was founded in 2013 by two passionate fashion enthusiasts, with its roots in Berlin. From the very beginning, our mission has been simple: to provide men and women with stylish, durable, and comfortable winter gloves for the colder months.
Today, Schwartz & von Halen delivers premium handmade gloves to customers around the world and has helped more than 400,000 customers find their perfect pair. Our collections are designed in collaboration with fashion designers in Amsterdam and are defined by a strong focus on craftsmanship, detail, style, and durability.
Each pair of gloves is handcrafted using carefully selected leathers, including deerskin, cowhide, sheepskin, and goatskin. To ensure exceptional warmth and comfort, our gloves are lined with premium materials such as cashmere, wool, sheepskin, lambswool, and ultra-soft fleece.
In addition to the United States, Schwartz & von Halen is active in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and across Europe, including the Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Poland, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and the United Kingdom. Today, the brand serves customers in more than 70 countries worldwide.
With our glove brand Schwartz & von Halen, we have opted for an online strategy. This means that our gloves are only available online.

In addition to the high quality of our gloves, we believe it is essential that Schwartz & von Halen products are made in a fair, responsible, and sustainable way. Each pair is carefully designed and then handcrafted with precision. With proper use and the right care, such as leather balm and a cotton pouch, our gloves are made to last for many years.
Purchasing a pair of Schwartz & von Halen gloves is therefore an investment in a timeless product that you will enjoy for years to come. To ensure both the quality of our products and the way they are made, we carry out annual inspections based on strict criteria. As a result, we can confidently state that:
All factories where our products are made are inspected by independent parties to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with international standards.
The craftsmen who make our gloves receive fair wages and are able to work in safe and responsible environments.
The leather hides and linings used in our gloves come exclusively from animals that are fully utilized, ensuring that no materials go to waste.
Product questions
The biggest advantage of our leather and suede gloves compared to wool gloves is that all Schwartz & von Halen leather gloves are naturally wind-resistant and water-repellent. To further protect your leather gloves against rain and cold weather, we recommend treating them with our leather gel (not suitable for suede or fabric gloves). The leather gel is included free of charge with every pair of gloves.
When should I use the leather gel?
You can apply the leather gel as soon as you receive your gloves or at the end of the winter season.
Applying the leather gel before wearing your gloves will provide an extra layer of protection against moisture. This is especially useful if you are caught in rain or use your gloves during outdoor activities such as cycling.
You can also apply the leather gel after winter to nourish the leather, maintain its softness, and restore its natural shine.
How do I use the leather gel?
Apply a small amount of leather gel with a soft cloth using gentle circular motions. Allow the gloves to dry completely after application. Once absorbed, the leather will feel softer, regain its natural shine, and become more water-repellent.
With proper care, your Schwartz & von Halen leather gloves will keep your hands warm, comfortable, and protected for many years.
Here you can find all the information about finding the right glove size.
Unfortunately, the leather gel cannot be used on suede or fabric gloves. You can think of the leather gel as a type of shoe polish. If you use this gel on suede gloves, it will cause stains that cannot be removed. The same applies to fabric gloves — the gel can also leave stains.
If you’d like to protect your suede gloves against winter weather (which we completely understand!), we recommend using a water- and dirt-repellent impregnation spray (available at most shoe stores).
Yes, you can find it here.
Leather is a natural material, and it’s very common for your gloves to feel stiff or rigid at first (this is especially true for the Hunter, David, Alessandra, and Chelsea models). As you wear your gloves, the leather will become more supple and gradually mold to the shape of your hands — that’s the beauty of leather.
If you happen to get caught in heavy rain and your gloves become soaked, please don’t place them on a heater — this will make the leather very stiff and hard. Instead, let them dry in a sheltered spot, and if the leather becomes a bit stiff afterward, it definitely helps to apply another layer of leather gel.
Please note that leather is a natural product, and every piece of hide — and therefore every leather glove — is unique. Since leather is made from animal hide, all gloves have small imperfections. We do not see this as a defect but rather as a characteristic that makes each leather glove unique. No two gloves are exactly the same.
We offer a one (1) year warranty on all Schwartz & von Halen gloves. This warranty starts from the moment you receive your gloves and covers manufacturing defects and issues related to the quality of our products.
If you experience any problems with your gloves within this period, please contact us. Our customer service team will be happy to assist you and work with you to find a suitable solution.
We’re sorry to hear that you have lost one of your gloves. Unfortunately, due to logistical reasons, we are unable to sell individual gloves separately.
However, please contact us and we will be happy to look into your situation and assist you in finding the best possible solution.
We offer a wide variety of premium leather gloves, including sheepskin leather, goatskin leather, American deerskin leather, cowhide leather, lambskin leather, pigskin leather, suede leather, vegan leather, and peccary leather. For more information about each leather type, click here.
We offer gloves with a variety of premium linings, including cashmere, wool, lambswool, sheepskin fur, rabbit fur, faux fur, silk, and ultra-warm fleece, ensuring the perfect balance of warmth, comfort, and style for every season. Read more about our lining types here.

Choosing gloves as a gift is lovely — but not knowing the recipient's size can be tricky, since it's not exactly everyday conversation!
To help, we've created both a glove size chart and a shoe-to-glove size comparison chart, so you can find the right fit either way. You'll find both here.
And if the size isn't quite right after all, no worries — you can exchange the order free of charge. See "Exchanges and Returns" for details.
In that case, we'd recommend sticking with your measured glove size. The shoe size chart isn't 100% precise: it's based on an average of several measurements, and as with any average, some people will fall slightly above or below it.
We receive our new collection every September. Since some returning models are very popular, certain sizes can sell out quickly. We recommend leaving your email address on the product page, so you'll be notified as soon as that glove is back in stock.
If you haven't heard anything after a while, feel free to contact us. Our customer service can check whether we're expecting new stock of your chosen glove this season.
Interested in wholesale or B2B orders? Please contact us, and we'll make sure your message reaches the right person as soon as possible.
Shipping
Orders placed before 12:00 PM EST on a business day are dispatched the same day. Orders placed on Saturday or Sunday go out on Monday.
You'll receive a confirmation email with a tracking link once your order gets its first scan. During periods of high volume, delivery may occasionally take a bit longer — we appreciate your patience if this happens, as it's out of our control.
As soon as your order ships, we'll send a confirmation email with a tracking link so you can follow its progress. If you haven't received this within 36 hours of ordering, please check your spam folder first.
Still can't find it? Contact us and we'll send you the tracking link directly.
We're sorry to hear that! In cases like this, the order was often delivered to a neighbor, but the courier forgot to log it digitally.
If you've checked with your neighbors and still can't find it, please contact us. We'll start an investigation and help you further.
Returns & Exchanges
We offer all customers a 60-day period to return or exchange their order.
Returning or exchanging your gloves is simple:
- Register your return on our Returns & Exchanges page.
- Fill in your details and print the return label (also sent to your email). Note: prepaid labels are only available for US customers. International customers can still return their order (instructions included in the confirmation email), but postage costs will be your responsibility.
- Drop off your package at a return courier point.
Important notes:
- Gloves must be returned unworn, uncreased, and in original condition, with no stains, folds, or damage.
- All tags and labels must still be attached.
- Flyers and any other included items should be returned in their original, neat condition.
Incomplete or damaged returns that haven't been reported to customer service in advance cannot be processed, and we're unable to offer replacements or refunds for them.
Your order number can be found in the confirmation emails we sent you. It starts with #SH.
If you can't find it, please contact us with your full name and delivery address, so we can locate your order quickly.
We're sorry to hear that! Before returning your order, please contact us and describe exactly what's damaged, including a few clear photos of the defect. This will help us assist you quickly and efficiently.
If you registered your return through our website, our warehouse will process it as quickly as possible. Processing times can sometimes be slightly longer during winter months due to high demand.
Once your return is confirmed by the warehouse, our customer service team handles the next steps. Whether it's an exchange or a refund, you'll always receive a confirmation email once your return has been processed. No email yet just means it's still being processed.
If you haven't heard anything for a while, feel free to contact us.
We hope you found the return instructions easily on our website. If not, and you sent your order back independently, please note your return or exchange may be delayed.
If you used a tracked shipment, contact us with the tracking information, and we'll check with the warehouse to confirm your return has been received.
